The Reason for my abscence

Well long time no post. The reason for abscence is a good reason. With starting back at work and starting riding again I have been rather tired however as of two weeks ago it looks like card making will have to be more of a whenever I can fit it in hobby now. The reson for this is:

yes I have gone out and bought my own horse. I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done and having him makes me feel so happy. Ive wanted my own for over 20 years now and I finally have my own :0)

Fish

Well I now have some fancy goldfish and a couple of Algae eaters living in the fish tank.

Ive got my challenge card finished but Im going to havev to wait until the weekend to get the pics up of it as my camera is not at home with me at the moment and I refuse to use my mobile phone camera as it is not the best for these sorts of pics. Roll on December and phone upgrade. Its a great phone simple to use etc but it is well used. Its fallen down the stairs more times than I care to remember and it still keeps struggling on. Im amazed it survived the fall when I got thrown off the horse in January.

Work Underway

Im busy working away at another card for a weekly Challenge. Fingers crossed I will have the pics up of the card by the end of Friday :0) I would take a pic of work in progress but the desk looks like a bomb has just gone off and I still can not find the one thing I was looking for (typical really)

Thankfully Im not at work today was really busy yesterday and after flat out working at work I went straight to the gym and then swimming. To say I was tired by 10pm is an understatement. At least I know it is doing my leg some good. Im riding again on Wednesday and really looking forward to it.

I also appear to now have a fishtank in my room as well as the hamster cage. Hopefully on Friday there will be some fish in it. Decided to start off with Goldfish then maybe look at Tropical in the future. I have not kept fish for about 10-12 years Im sure it will be fine though.

I did get this card made for my riding instructor over the weekend but I seem to have forgotten to post it (D'oh)

Penny Black Week 112 Challenge

After spending all day yesterday and most of today working on the car with an angle grinder (rust prevention methods) I decided to have a rest and get some card making done :0)

I managed to get an entry done for this weeks Penny Black challenge which is READY STEADY COOK.

The recipe given was:

1 - Circle
2 - Paper
and 3 - flowers

Here's my creation:

I used some greeny card stock to make the card as I could not find my card blanks anywhere they all appear to have done a runner. Both backing paper are from My Minds Eye Summer Pack. The flowers were some I already had made up in the stash and I went a bit to town with some distress inks. Im pleased I got to use my new scallop nesties for this project as well as my crop a dile.

In other news leg appears to be going ok just swelling up and Im actually feeling really great :0)

A leg update

Thought today I would give a bit of a leg update (and a card making update).

On the leg front my leg escaped from its cast 4 weeks ago and I had physio at the hospital this morning and they signed me off the books today. It should be a 6-8 week course they have signed me off after 3 weeks. I was finding the exercises too easy and I was on the highest level. I still need to carry on with the exercises etc but they said I might ass well do them at home rather than keep coming in for 30 mins every Thursday it sounded good to me :0) Im not back for another x-ray until the 1stof September and to see the consultant again. Last night I had a riding lesson and I stayed on for the full hour. I had two 3min rests as it was really tiring. I did everything I normally do but had to do mainly sitting trot as rising trot started to hurt after a while.

I had a really great time. I got home and my leg/ ankle was the size of 4 tennis balls taped together but I was not in any pain. Put leg up on beanbag and popped some frozen peas onto and got up this morning and it was still fine :0)

On the card making front I have been working on something that my partner wants me to enter into a competition as he thinks it is good. I know I probably won't get anywhere with it and after several excuses I gave about why I should not enter Ive given in. I just need to pop out to the craft shop tomorrow for the finishing touch.

Im back at work I started back on Monday but only did Monday and Wednesday this week next week Im doing three days and the following week four hopefully if I survive that the next week I should be back up to five days again. Cue the weekends passing by far too quickly again :0)

Penny Black Challenge week 111

I got really excited when I saw this weeks challenge and it made me dig out all my crafting bits and sit down at the workbench.

The challenge this week is 'Christmas In July'

Heres my entry these are the only two Penny Black Christmas stamps I own which is something that will have to be rectified :0)

Card Recipe:

. Penny Black Leaping Deer Stamp
. Penny Black Merry Christmas Stamp
. Gold Embossing Powder
. Clear Ink Pad
. Red Mulberry Paper
. Red Card
. Christmas Backing Paper from: Crafts House Paper Pack: Plum Pudding

While doing this card Ive also managed to get some gift tags done (30 odd) phew not bad for a mornings work.

I think a quick rest then I might have a go at another blog challenge.

Long Time No Post

Crikey its been a fair while since I posted. Over the past few weeks I have not been doing any card making I was having a lot of trouble sitting at the bench with my leg in its cast. However good news is that as of a week last Wednesday my leg is now free from its cast :0) Ive already manged to go out on motorbike and I already have a horseriding lesson booked in for next week (easy going lesson though)

Ive started my physio and have to go to the hospital once a week for the next four weeks. Ive also joined the gym Im only swimming at the moment but when Im ok Im going to start using the gym as well :0) Hence lack of card making for the last two weeks after an hours swim I am totally wiped out and Im back to work tomorrow.

Sunday 27 June 2010

Some new techniques I have learnt

Well I have spent the whole weekend trying out new techniques on my Cuttlebug, extending the cutting dies etc for longer boarders, backgrounds etc. Ive tried doing some pyramid frames on the front of the fairy card. Distressing papers with nails files etc. Lots of experimenting and playing around for two days solid but only managed to actually get three cards made I am happy with. The point is though at least I learned something new :0)

Thursday 24 June 2010

Wow Thursday already

Well this week has flown by and Im looking forward to being back at the workbench by the weekend :0) Im at another crafting class tomorrow which I am really looking forward to as it is a Cuttlebug workshop. I have not been able to get to the breakfastbar here to do any card making as my dad is currently building an new Radio Controlled aircraft so Im back to weekend crafting at my Fiance's parents. Roll on getting our own place.

I would like to thank Cheryl so much for thinking of me for a blog award.Cheryl has a wonderful blog which can be found here always a pleasure a read through.

Sunday 20 June 2010

Two days in a row

Wow I have actually managed two days in a row at the workbench I think I am well and truly back in the crafting groove now. I think the week off has done some good :0)

Looking forward to Friday as I am going to a Cuttlebug class at the local craft shop so I get to spend the morning out of the house and doing something crafty. It is still frustrating having my leg in a cast and I hope that wont cause too much trouble with seating etc. I have been doing some more "kit" cards today to get them done and out of the way :0) I also had a sort through of all my stash, tools etc it all came about as I was looking for some particular paper that I could not find. Three hours later everything was back to being tidy but I had a very sore back and I sat with my broken leg in an odd position so in a bit of pain from that now. I won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Here are a few pics of some of the "kit" cards:

Saturday 19 June 2010

Im back and have been busy

After having a few days away from any crafting, model building etc I feel better for it and managed to get really inspired today to create the following cards (aswell as making up 20 odd Paper Nation decoupage cards - pics of those tomorrow)

I have not tried doing box cards before as you can see the first attempt went a bit wrong but saved in by keeping a strip down the side to write a greeting/ stamp a greeting onto. Ive finally got the hang of my Aqua ProMarkers after much annoyance with them I can finally shade etc with them. The stamps I used on both cards are Kars Ollyfant stamp set. I though the images were really cute.

Take two went much better. For the second one I changed the colours round and rather than sticking the items on flat to the card I used silicone glue to get the 3-d decoupage effect. It was my first time using silicone glue and I think its fab.

I did add this panel to the back of the card so a message can be written and also attached the sentiment which I am thinking of removing and using something else for it.

So thats been my day. Should be doing more tomorrow and will put up the pics of my paper nation cards I got done today I was asked to make some of them up for upcoming events.

Thursday 10 June 2010

Not good news

Well after my hospital appointment yesterday the cast is staying on for longer. Apparently the top Tibia break has healed up but the more serious bottom break has not. So another month of leg cast, then if it comes off I will have to wear a splint for quite some time. I think I can just about forget horse riding and going out on my motorbike and driving this year.

Following that feeling really frustrated and down in the dumps I know it could have been much worse but its so frustrating. At least I can go to the day long stamping and Aqua Pro Markers class at the local craft shop. The other good news is I won't have to book the week off work I wanted in July as Im signed off for the next six weeks.

Hoping that I will have calmed down by the weekend and then onto some crafting to help relax me. I think I will get OH to pick up some crafty magazines for me when he goes shopping tomorrow night. Suppose I had better think about making a cup of tea/ coffee and might go for a longish hobble on my crutches

Tuesday 8 June 2010

Out of my creative funk

I managed to get out of my funk today long enough to make a card. It is similar to the one I made for the 103 Penny Black challenge but I slightly changed the position of the stamped images and the sentiment. I have made this one with a Birthday in mind just hope they like it.

At hospital tomorrow so no card making for me fingers crossed what passes for normal service will be resumed by the weekend.

Sunday 6 June 2010

Penny Black Saturday Challenge...Week 104 - Swirls

Well here is my entry for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Swirls

I dont think it as good as previous attempts I don't know what it is with me at the moment I just dont seem to be able to get into the swing of it this weekend. Possibly the heat or worrying about going to the hospital on Wednesday Im hoping they will take this cast off my leg (its been almost 5 months since I broke it) and that I can start physio and get on learning how to walk again.

The good news is I got to use my Cuttlebug, embossing folders and Spellbinders dies I adore it I honestly don't know how I would cope without a die cutting machine now.

Items Used:

. Divine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder
. Craft House - Tutti Fruitti paper stack (the blue and multi coloured paper backgrounds)
. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Spun Sugar (pink backing on stamp frames)
. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Mustard (yellow edging round the card)
. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Peeled Paint (edging round stamped image)
. Penny Black stamp from the Bubbly set
. 4 x clear self adhesive gems
. Happy Birthday Sentiment from a free magazine gift

I think that is my crafting for this weekend as I think I am worrying myself about Wednesday too much to focus on any tasks.

Friday 4 June 2010

Digi Day

Well I managed to get some card making time in but had to use the floor. As I really enjoyed the card design I did yesterday (tri/quad shutter card) so thought I would have another go at this style.
Fortunately this card fits in nicely with Digi Day Challenge over on Stamp Something

Card Ingredients

. Bugaboo Bee Bear Digi Stamp
. Two Different designs of backing paper both from - My Minds Eye Spring Papers
. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Broken China (Sky Effect)
. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Peeled Paint (Grass Effect)
. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Dried Marigold (Edging of card)
. Flower Tag from Stash
. Flower Soft Fine Sage - used on grass (darker areas)
. 4 x Pink self adhesive gems
. Heat it Up Embossing powder - Silver Tinsel - used on the Bears Wings
. Heat it Up Embossing powder - Gold - used on sentiment
. See Dees Sentiment
. Purple Eyelet
. Brown Glitter Card
.Light Brown Ribbon from stash
. Multi green Ribbon from stash

Phew I think that is everything I used.

Fingers crossed I will be at a workbench over the weekend so I should be able to be a bit more productive.

My Tri/Quad Shutter Card also Challenge #19 - Just Cute Bears

Well I have just finished off yesterdays challenge to myself. I managed to make the card, use some of my new Wild Rose papers adn use one of my Bugaboo digi stamps. I don't think it is too bad for a first attempt at one of these types of cards. I have made it into a Thank You card.

The good news it fits in with this week's Challenge #19 - Thank You Card over on Just Cute Bears

Items Used:

Bugaboo Bee Bear with Flower
Wild Rose Milton Papers
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Denim (used to stamp sentiment)
Tim Holtz - Broken China (used for sky background)
Tim Holtz - Peeled Paint (Used for grass background)
Tim Holtz - Dried Marigold (Used as grass background)
Tim Holtz - Old Paper (used on edges of image and fold on the card)
Flower Soft Fine Sage - Used on the grass area to add depth
Embossed gold paper (from stash)
Brown Ribbon with flower image (from stash)
Heat it Up Embossing powder - Silver Tinsel - used on the Bears Wings
See Dees Sentiment

In other news I have just had a Crop a Dile arrive and I got it for the tiny sum (including postage from eBay) £7.25 so a very happy bunny at the moment. It looks like no cardmaking today for me as dad is home and using the bench so I think I might do a bit more to a horse cross stitch or sit down and read through some card making mags. Im trying to avoid watching telly as I never get anything done or end up arguing with it. (Ive been stuck indoors far too long)

Wednesday 2 June 2010

My Work Area and Challenge

Well I thought I would get a photo of my work area currently using a very small area of my dads workbench (was supposedly a breakfast bar when dad put it in just long enough to build radio controlled aircraft wings on)

Most of the tools and bits under the area and on the top are dads. Im limited with time using the bench as need to clear everything away before dad gets back from work. Im currently working out of my new tote bag (so happy I bought it). I will get some photos of my workbench at fiance's parents house that I normally use as I have a lot more space there and all my tools, paper, card etc are there.

Ive set myself a challenge for today as well to use my Ultimate Pro and make a Tri/Quad Shutter Card I have never made one before and would really like to have a go. I will also try to use some of my new Wild Rose paper and one of my new Bugaboo digi stamps on it too. Phew I had better get cracking if I want to get it made before I have to pack everything away.

Tuesday 1 June 2010

Purchases have arrived

Well it's been a wonderful day here. I had two very large parcels arrive today and I thrilled with the contents. The first parcel contained my new Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro my wonderful fiance paid for that for me. I have been playing with the embossing bits, folding etc and Im the first to admit a bit more practise is needed but wow it is looking like it will be a great to the tools. addition

My second (very large and very heavy parcel) consisted of plain card, Wild Rose Backing papers, 2 Cuttlebug Embossing folders and drum roll...............................

a Cuttlebug

Card making sort of went out the window this afternoon and I have just been playing with my Cuttlebug. I went for a Cuttlebug over the Big Shot for the only reason the Cuttlebug folds up. I panicked when the folders made a cracking noise when I first put some Nesties through and the image was left on the cutting boards a quick google and a huge sigh of relief from me when I discovered that it was normal. I think I will be doing some more playing about later and hopefully back to card making tomorrow :0)

Monday 31 May 2010

Christmas has landed on the workbench

Today's crafting entertainment consisted of batch making Christmas cards (looks like I will be doing the same tomorrow) Glitter from the glitter embossing powder has spread itself everywhere and some Polar White flower soft escaped as well. All in all a good productive day, I had a rest inbetween batches by using my Pro Makers to colour in some digi stamps which might end up on cards tomorrow.

Looking forward to tomorrow I have my fingers crossed my Cuttlebug and Ultimate Pro will arrive then I can do some more playing around and experimenting :0)

Sunday 30 May 2010

Penny Black Saturday Challenge...Week 103

Well after reading this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge...Week 103 'In The Garden' I thought I would not be able to take part until I found two Hedgehog stamps both from the 'Bubbly' Birthday set.

I have also made this card to fit in with Pear Tree Designs: Challenge 2 - Floral Delights

Card Ingredients:

Penny Black Hedgehogs 'Bubbly' Birthday Set
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Broken China
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Peeled Paint
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink - Old Paper
My Mind's Eye Spring Papers - Polka dot backing paper
My Mind's Eye Spring Papers- Pink paper behind image
Kate Knight Paper - Cut out Flowers and dragonfly
Gingham Ribbon

The distressed Ink was dabbed on via a sponge for the sky and grass back ground. I coloured in the hedgehogs using some watercolour pencils I picked up yesterday from the craft shop along with the Kate Knight Paper. The flowers and dragon fly were cut from the paper and fortunatly they all had a flat edge so I used them along the bottom of the card. The two flowers that were whole I decided to scrunch up and stick together I added a gem to the middle of the flower and used the Old Paper distressed ink to weather the edges and the crumples on the flower to add some depth. The final thing I did was to add a small green gingham bow and stamp the sentiment.

Right back to the workbench and creating more cards (I guarantee most will end up being Christmas ones)

Saturday 29 May 2010

Todays Attempts

Wow two posts in a day that's a first for me :0) Well I managed to get on with some crafting and it was Christmas based today (yes I know it's almost seven months away) I thought I would try and be organised as I dread to think what would happen if I left all the card making until Oct/ Nov time. I managed to find some 'The Snowman' decoupage, backing papers and a stamp set on eBay quite cheap so bought them ( I adore the film)and I have done two so far.

I thought I would break out the rubber stamps, embossing powders and Polar White Flower Soft for the ones below. I think if I need to do any batch ones for friends/ colleagues then these are my best bet fairly quick to make and they still look good (well i think they do) The leaping deer has been stamped onto Mulberry paper and torn. I did this one as a play around card as I was not sure how it would turn out.

Well thats all I managed to get done today :0( hoping to get some more done tomorrow and i want to have a go at this weeks Penny Black Challenge I thought I would not be able to enter as the theme is 'In the Garden' and I did not have any garden related ones until I saw on a Birthday stamp set two that might just about it.

Bad day and new arrivals

Well today got off too a bad start a neighbour knocked on the the door to tell Allen (fiance) that at 3 this morning some young idiot decided to go down the opposite side of the street and knocked every single car drivers door mirror off the car the entire length of the road. Unfortunately Allen's car was parked on the opposite side of the street as dad was parked on our front. 3 hours later the mirror electrics and bracket appeared to be fixed and back on the door until we went over a speed bump and it snapped again. Lots of mumbling under breath happened.

Worse bit was it happened on the speed bump outside the craft shop where Allen was taking me (yes I do feel slightly guilty). I carried out my threat and bought myself a tote I was really happy its a Papermania one and cost me £12. While there I also picked up a dragonfly stamp with sheet music behind the dragonfly for £2 and some new watercolour pencils. I would like to make it known I only actually went to look at tote bags no purchasing was intended.

My nestibilities arrived in the post this morning but I don't think the Cuttlebug will arrive until Tuesday as coming by a courier firm rather than Royal Mail and Saturday delivery is extra for some reason?

After all the hassle this morning I have only done one easy straightforward card as I just needed to relax. Here it is, one of the Kanban Wobblers they are so sweet I had to get the Zebra :0) Hopefully I will be able to get some others done today aswell. Im actually debating about making a start on Christmas cards already that way I won't have to rush or think about them at Christmas.

Friday 28 May 2010

New Item Ordered

Well I have ordered myself a Cuttlebug I had a discount code for Handy Hippo so I decided to order it and a couple of embossing folders just to get me started a couple of paper stacks and card hopped into the basket as well. I was torn between the Cuttlebug and The Big Shot it finally came down to the fact I have to pack everything away when I am done and the Cuttlebug folds up and I have a space I can squeeze it into whereas I would not be able to leave the Big Shot out on the bench as I had planned.

I can not wait for it to arrive :0) I did also purchase some nestibilites to have a go with as well. Think my next biggish purchase will be Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro but that will have to wait until later in the month after I have paid to have a crown on a tooth I badly chipped when I was thrown off the horse. Only just been able to face going to the dentist.

Roll on tomorrow as I really want to get on with some card making hopefully a better update tomorrow with pictures of something constructive :0)

Right back to battling with some embroidery thread and a 9 page chart.

Thursday 27 May 2010

Withdrawal Symptoms

Im starting to get withdrawal symptoms from not having done any card making for a couple of days (well apart from the failed attempt) Im going to have to get more organised and make sure I pack some bits into a box so I can do bits while at home. Currently I am alternating reading through several card magazines and starting the mother of all cross-stitch patterns.

Ive always done cross - stitch its an on/off hobby currently I have an aircraft cross stitch underway (its somewhere I just don't know where) as I could not locate it I decided to start another of a horse jumping. There are 9 pages of the pattern and its going to be big. If its finished in 10 years I will be happy.

Been looking at digi stamps and writing a list of some I would like to have thats kept me occupied for quite a while as well. Im also determined to fit card making in when I go back to work, well whenever that will be hopefully a month after leg comes out of cast. If thats the case I will have been off work 6 months

Wednesday 26 May 2010

Well I have reached the conclusion when I try using card set's that come with magazines it turns into a disaster. Im going to hang fire and wait till I can get to my crafting bits. Im beginning to think I could do with a tote or something I can pack so I can move some of my crafty bits between the two places. That would be better that way I dont have to wait until the weekend to try and get it all done.

Oh well at least Im getting some more bonding time in with new hamster (the previous one Fruitloop (in my blogger avatar) passed away in Feb this year on my 25th Birthday which was also after I broke leg not a good year so far) he's named Gizmo he will have been with us a week tomorrow and is doing well still jumpy at some noises but took to us handling him very well. Only one bad photo so far as he won't stay still long enough

and my previous sweetie Fruitloop

Tuesday 25 May 2010

Owww

Ive been in a bit of pain after stupidly getting sunburnt on my arms and hands on Sunday. I popped out for a bit of radio controlled flying with dad put suntan lotion on and three hours later after much holding the transmitter and many flights I could barely move my arms.

Yesterday was awful so I did not even attempt to start any cards however after much aftersun it still stings but not as bad so I think I will attempt to make one or two cards today. I will be using a Flower Fairies set that came with Let's Make Cards to just make some straightforward simple ones. I will of course still be playing around and thinking of trying different card folds etc.

Another reason for this is my card making stuff is at boyfriends parents house and Im at home armed only with some glue, knife and a ruler. (We are hoping to get a place of our own next year - fingers crossed)

Sunday 23 May 2010

Three More ......

Wow three more cards done I think this is a record (well for me) first up we have a 'Hello' card, the stamp was free with a magazine and the sentiment is from a See Dee's set which I have embossed in silver. I coloured the image with Pro Markers and went to town with Tim Holtz's Old Paper Distressed ink and Broken China on the sentiment. The backing papers and die cut/ ribbon were some I had laying around in the stash.

For the next one I used Flower Soft's Moment's in Time- Grows With Love Stamp I coloured the image using Pro Markers and watercolour pencils. Once dry I applied some Flower Soft glue and used Flower Softs Ultra Fine - Sage to add some depth to the grass (not sure if you can see in the pic). Next I used Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo around the edge of the image.

(The Trimmer I bought is a god send as the different edgings cartridges make life much eaasier)

The back paper is from My Minds Eye Pretty Please Spring Papers. I then used the small tree stamp from the Kanban Autumn set and stamped one image in Versa ink baby blue and another in Versa ink Sandstone (bottom left I think you can just make it out on the pic) The final thing was to use the sentiment from the Kanban Spring Garden set.

and finally a Christmas card the ribbon was tucked away in a drawer, the backing paper is from Crafts House Paper Pack , Plum Pudding, the Woodware Christmas Pudding stamps are coloured using Pro Markers and I decided to use Tim Holtz distressed ink - Tea Dye as the white card seemed really bright and I thought it could do with toning down. The final thing was to add a Merry Christmas sentiment to the top of the card

Phew that was a lot for a Sunday morning I think I might reward myself with a trip outside for some fresh air.

Blog Changes

Well this morning I thought I would have a play around and the result was finding the blogger template designer so I have had a quick play around. I think it looks slightly better and not as dull. Right that's enough procrastinating back to the workbench and onwards with card making before I give into temptation and go outside for a while later.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge # 102 - 'Lots of Dots'

Well after the excitement of my new purchases I decided to get cracking at making a card only to discover I had run out of double sided sticky tape and my tape roller was running out. So ensued a mad dash to the local craft shop to stock up on the supplies while there I also purchased some more paper (Im learning can never have too much) and picked up some polka dotted paper (it was new in)

Once home and settled back at the workbench (after having to move some of mine and boyfriends model kits from it) After a quick check on the blogs I discovered the Penny Black Saturday Challenge so thought I would have a play with the new items and see what I could come up with.

The result:

Im really pleased with it especially as it is only the 5th card I have made to date. (The white paper around the outside is a piece of backing paper not part of the card ;0) )

Items used

Penny Black 'It's Your Day' Stamp Set

See D's Greetings Stamp

Gold Mirror Card

Black and White Polka Dot Paper

White and Black Polka Dot Paper

Stamp-unstuff Pacific Blue Embossing Powder

Tim Holtz Distress Pad - Old Paper

Tim Holtz Distress Pad - Broken China

Red Ribbon (found lurking in a drawer)

I must be getting brave entering this I really enjoyed making it and I would seriously consider making another now but as its just gone Midnight I think I will find my way to bed.

Purchases have arrived

One very happy bunny here as this little lot all arrived this morning from various sources. I have been on a bit of a spending spree as Im really enjoying and getting into this hobby so thought it is worth the investment. The goodies are: Woodware paper trimmer with extra patterned blades (I can't cut straight with scissors to save my life), Woodware Oriental ladies stamp set, Rock-A-Blocks set, Sticky stuff spray, Two lots of Pro-Markers and 4 Sweet Pea stamps :0)

Right time to put some of these to use and get making something :0)

Sunday 16 May 2010

Back On-line and some bits and pieces

Well Im finally back on-line the internet connection should now be ok (touches a very large piece of wood)

Shamefully I only managed to get 2 cards made however I did get some toppers made. The embellishments, papers etc came from two different ATC starter packs I purchased from eBay as I really liked the designs in the packs and there was a variety of things I could do with these rather than spending a lot on the bits I would have needed to do them myself :0)

The two cards

Six Oriental themed toppers

and another six

Six Victorian (?) themed toppers

and another five.

I have also ordered a few more bits and pieces nothing exciting some Pro Markers, Rock a Block acrylic stamp blocks, paper trimmer (with 8 different interchangeable blades) Watercolour pencils, water pens, some clear stamps and I have ordered some Sweet Pea stamps as I have found somewhere on-line in the U.K that stocks them. Looking forward to them arriving and playing around with them

Sunday 9 May 2010

Internet has decided to stop working

Sorry for lack of updates and pics but the internet connection has gone down so when it is back working (fingers crossed for Saturday) expect a biggish update when it is working.I am working on an Oriental themed card and have done an ATC as well.

Thursday 6 May 2010

Drum roll...........

I have actually managed to play around with some water colour pencils and aqua pro markers and I think the pics are slightly better as well (woooo)I think the pencils have worked better for me than the pro markers but I think I must be going wrong somewhere with them.

I picked up the rubber stamps for £1 each (apart from the Christmas Pud and Penny Black Cat ones) I thought that was extremely good.I just stamped several of each image and coloured one in pencil one in pro markers. Im sure you will be able to see the difference but the lighter ones are the pencils.

The ink down the side of one of the pieces of card was me playing with some distress inks and sponge.I was not too careful with stamping the images as I just wanted to really try out the colouring aspect.I also did them on scrap card although one or two maybe cut out and used as card toppers

Again any comments etc are always welcomed
