Penny Black Challenge week 176

My latest creation is for the Penny Black Week 176 Challenge. This week it was Snowflakes/Snow and Silver

For my entry I used a standard white card stock for the card base and stamped the Penny black image onto slightly white pearlescent cardstock. I then used silver imbossing powder over the image and heated this.
The Stamp was then mounted onto silver mirricard and attached to the card base.

Ive had the Papermania wax seal Christmas kit for a few years now and Ive never used it. I noticed one of the seals had a snowflake design on it and I thought this wowuld be an ideal oppertunity to finally use it. I melted the wax onto a scrap piece of cardstock and then stamp three wax seals. Once they had set I carefully peeled them from the cardstock and then attached them to the card.

Sketch Saturday #180

Long time no blog been really busy with house, horse, other assorted pet animals and work so unfortunatly card making has taken a back seat (boo hiss) I have managed to get some time and thought I would have a crack at

Sketch Saturday's week 180 challenge

Heres my entry I used some left over card stock from a class I took at the local craft centre and thought this would be a great excuse to use the card up. The cupcake stamp set is from the Personal Impressions Hi Cupcake stamp set.

More of Christmas

Following on from the below post for the Penny Black Challenge here are a few more I had a play round with

Penny Black Saturday Challenge...Week 159

The challenge this week over on Penny Black is Christmas in July

This has really given my card making a kick start it needed, Ive been so busy with decorating our new house, we've just got a dog from a rescue centre and Ive still got my horse to look after ontop of working full time (Ive been doing overtime the last few weekends so Ive gotten a little side tracked.

My entry for this week is:

Card Recipe:

Anita's red card blank
Penny Black Merry Christmas Stamp
Penny Black Christmas tree stamp
White ink pad for sentiment
Glue pad for Tree stamp
White glitterfor tree stamp

As I will be doing large batches of cards as I always hand make ours I have decided to try and keep the designs very simple and basic so they are able to be made in a shorter amount of time

Some more cards

Yes three posts in a day and five cards completed in half a day Im doing well :0) These ones are not for any challenges and not for any specific events but I just fancied playing around with the card making bits in between re decorating, unpacking and going to look after my horse.

Sketch Saturday Week 153 Entry

Here is my entry for Sketch Saturday week 153

The stamp came free with a magazine last year and I came across it while having a tidy out and thought it looked quite cute. The papers I used are offcuts I had in one of my folders that I am trying to use up before I start cutting into any more paper packs. (Thats not going to work for very long hehe)

Less is More week 13 - Thank you

Well still working on decorating the house, unpacking and trying to get things sorted out but I did manage to squeeze in some card making yesterday (saturday) as well as going to look after my horse. Ive decided after going to see my horse today Im having a lazy afternoon/ evening.

First card I completed was for the Less is more week 13 - Thank you

Im please with the theme for this weeks challenge as I wanted to make a thank you card for the nurses on my Grandma's hospital ward as she fell over and broke her hip the day before her birthday hopefully she will be out of hospital on Tuesday all fingers crossed.

I used two stamps that came free with a magazine, coloured them with promarkers and added four half pearls to the card and I even made my own bow. I finally dug out my Crafters companion ulimate pro.

Less Is More Week 12 - Off Centre

I decided to keep my entry for this challenge really simple and it seems to have worked. This weeks challenge was 'Off Centre' and I was pleased of the excuse to have another play with my set of cupcake stamps.

I am thinking that I will make a matching gift tag. I thought using red ink on the greeting added a touch of colour along with colouring the cherry in with my Promarker poppy red.

Sketch Saturday Week #152

Ive managed to make some time to enter this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge in between the redecorating and cleaning.

It seemed like a good excuse to use my new Penny Black Toadily Happy stamp set and some offcuts bits of cards.

Ribbon Girl Challenge 7

In between unpacking anad redecorating I managed to squeeze in a tiny bit of card making for Colour Challenge 7 over on The Ribbon Girl blog. The colour challenge this time was Red, White and Blue.

I used a Molly Bloom stamp which came free with a magazine recently, this was coloured using Promarkers. The red and blue card was so offcuts I had in one of my boxes same with the ribbon off cuts. I used white ink to stamp the happy birthday greeting but not sure if it shows up too well on the pic though.

Lack of Updates

I feel terrible for the lack of updates and the lack of taking part in challenges but I do have a very good reason. All my crafty stuff is packed away as I will be moving into my own house this Saturday. Hopefully once the house is sorted and workbench is installed I should hopefully return in a few weeks (she says with fingers crossed)

Penny Black Challenge

Well now that I am finally back in my blog I decided to have a go at this weeks Penny Black Challenge . The Challenge was to have more than one fold. I admit my card ended up being more of a box I was trying to do a pop out but it didnt work but it was my first attempt at doing something like this and it has more than one fold. I think if I pretend I was trying to make a box it came out really well. The ribbon edging is still drying hence why it looks a bit rough.

I also got a Christmas Milton stamp which I just had to play with. Lots of playing with promarkers and flower soft

Better get back to embossing my wedding invitations, glass painting the glasses for the wedding favours (wedding isnt till March 2012) and watching NCIS. Then its off to muck out the horse and give him his tea.

Friday 4 March 2011

Yes Im back in

Wooooooooooooo Ive finally managed to get back into my blog after several months. Not sure how on earth I managed it but I can finally get on with updates. Runs off to take some pics
