The Penny black Challenge was May Day (Spring themed cards) I used these two hedgehogs together from one of the birthday stamp clear sets I have as I seem to be lacking stamps that I would class as "Spring". The backing papers are from My Minds Eye Spring Paper collections and one of the sheets is from the My Minds Eye Summer paper collection. The images was stamped in versa fine ink and coloured with my trusty watercolour pencils. I then found my distressed peel paint ink pad and dabbed on the grass and broken china dabbed on gave the sky. I also managed to use my crop a dile (I actually forgot I had one) to add the brads to the bottom right of the cards. The final thing was to stamp the greeting in black. I ended up deciding on black for the greeting as I felt it was the only ink I had that would stand out from the lively backing papers.

I did manage to cram a small bit of card making in admittedly it was for three of the weekly challenges but its still card making just the same.

So without further ado my entry for the less is more Week 65 Sketch

Yet again the tree stamps from the Kaban sets hopped out onto the table and were put to goo use. This particular stamp is from the Autumn silhouette set and the sentiment is from the Spring silhouette set. The image and sentiment were stamped using versa colours Sky Mist. I really seem to have a thing for these stamp sets and this colour ink at the moment. They just go so well together and are fab for doing simple stamped cards.

Hunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-84753964914280304182012-04-22T04:59:00.002-07:002012-04-22T04:59:13.458-07:00No Patterned Paper and a SketchWow where has this week gone can not believe it is Sunday already and have a load of stuff to do befoer work next week and not enough time. I did force myself to sit down this morning and work on a card that hopefully will be eligble for two challenges this week firstly Penny Black Challenge Week 198 No Patterned Paper and Sketch Saturday Week 204

The image is from Penny Black's Have a Micey Nice Day stamp set which is a new purchase it was a great find on eBay :0) The image was coloured using my watercolour pencils as Im still finding the Promarkers too stark to use on these lovely images they seem to overpower them even the water promarkers I have.
The plain paper are some oddments I had left over from a card making day at the local craft store a few years ago. The final touch was to add some stick on blue gems which I honestly can not remember buying

Hunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-64073799778260076162012-04-15T02:40:00.002-07:002012-04-15T02:40:36.099-07:00Spots,Stripes and SketchMy next card creation of today I have made with two challenges in mind, the first being Penny Black Saturday Challenge week 197 - Spots and Stripes.

The image is from the Todily Happy clear stamp set which I bought a fair while ago but it has had very little use. The Birthday Wishes greeting I believe was part of a free stamp set from a magazine. The images were coloured using water colour pencils as I thought the promarkers might be a bit too loud against the background colours I had picked. Once it was all dried out the Cuttlebug came out to cut the circles the final thing I decided to do was to colour the edges with some Tim Holtz distressed ink Im not sure why but the white edges of the circles really didnt go well. Adding the bit of colour to them seems to have helped.

The blue polka dot paper came from the Craft House Polka dot pad set, the black polka dot paper and orange striped paper wa sin the spare offcuts box and I can not for the life of me remember where they came from. The other striped paper was again from the left over box but I seem to remember/think this was from the My Minds Eye Spring pad set.

The second challenge Im putting this card in for is the Sketch Saturday week 203 challengeHunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-53254040741954806282012-04-15T02:25:00.001-07:002012-04-15T02:27:15.510-07:00Week 63 One Layer 'Less Is More' entryWow long time no blog on my card production. Starting off today with one I made for the Less Is More
Week 63 One Layer challenge

I opted for a very simple card as the Challenge was 'Doodles' something on the card had to have been done my me freehand in ink. Now as I am really rubish at drawing I opted to handwrite a greeting on the card (you can probably gather from the pics my handwritiing leaves something to be desired aswell)

The stamp I used was from the Kaban Spring Silouettes its the largest tree stamp on that set so it was a bit touch and go if I could get it to fit on the card, well as you can see it did fit. After a hunt through my ink pads I opted to use Sky Mist Versa Ink to stamp the tree image. The greeting was written by moi in Cornflower PromarkerHunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-31950968073464154062012-04-10T12:43:00.001-07:002012-04-10T12:43:42.167-07:00Wow very productive few daysWell I actually managed to have a few very productive days over Easter. In other news I took part in a beginners knitting class on Friday night and I really enjoyed it. Ive enjoyed it that much Ive decided to keep it up Im starting off easy just a scarf for a Christmas present and I really want to find a way to incorporate knitting into my card making (and jewellery making for that matter) once I get the hang of itHunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-45198742145051719032012-04-03T10:13:00.002-07:002012-04-03T10:13:37.991-07:00Some Jewellery too....Yes you read that right been really on the ball today (fingers crossed this lasts) with being crafty as well as the normal day job (booo but it pays the bills)
Unfortunatly with the crafty burnout I seem to have had this was not done so decided to get to it and have a play about with them. Not the best lighting in the world which is a shame. The Christmas doggies were free with a magazine and I believe the snowman with bauble was bought from Handy Hippo. The Christmas pudding one and Let it snow are older stamps but I got into the flow of making.
In other news I did get married on the 17th March I hand made all the invites in Nov which I think caused some crafty burnout and all the Thank You cards aswell. Was a nice simple family only do and was very cheap aswell ceremony, dress, partners suit, meal for 14 of us was for less than £400 nice easy relaxed day.

Ive also dug out/ bought some more Jewellery making bits as decided would like to start doing some more of Jewellery making, glass painting and card making I will be sticking to trying to have some me crafting time at least once a week.Hunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-82775561348490784852011-11-07T10:45:00.000-08:002011-11-07T11:15:44.310-08:00Penny Black Challenge week 176My latest creation is for the Penny Black Week 176 Challenge. This week it was Snowflakes/Snow and Silver

For my entry I used a standard white card stock for the card base and stamped the Penny black image onto slightly white pearlescent cardstock. I then used silver imbossing powder over the image and heated this.
The Stamp was then mounted onto silver mirricard and attached to the card base.

Ive had the Papermania wax seal Christmas kit for a few years now and Ive never used it. I noticed one of the seals had a snowflake design on it and I thought this wowuld be an ideal oppertunity to finally use it. I melted the wax onto a scrap piece of cardstock and then stamp three wax seals. Once they had set I carefully peeled them from the cardstock and then attached them to the card.

Hunters Moonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08031107400144327012noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4295906648239486800.post-34358136236341308152011-11-07T10:33:00.000-08:002011-11-07T10:44:10.281-08:00Sketch Saturday #180Long time no blog been really busy with house, horse, other assorted pet animals and work so unfortunatly card making has taken a back seat (boo hiss) I have managed to get some time and thought I would have a crack at

Sketch Saturday's week 180 challenge

Heres my entry I used some left over card stock from a class I took at the local craft centre and thought this would be a great excuse to use the card up. Ive decided after going to see my horse today Im having a lazy afternoon/ evening.

First card I completed was for the Less is more week 13 - Thank you

Im please with the theme for this weeks challenge as I wanted to make a thank you card for the nurses on my Grandma's hospital ward as she fell over and broke her hip the day before her birthday hopefully she will be out of hospital on Tuesday all fingers crossed.

I used two stamps that came free with a magazine, coloured them with promarkers and added four half pearls to the card and I even made my own bow. This weeks challenge was 'Off Centre' and I was pleased of the excuse to have another play with my set of cupcake stamps.

I am thinking that I will make a matching gift tag.
